Katja Lange-Müller

Katja Lange-Müller, born 1951 in East Berlin, was trained as a typesetter and worked as a picture editor at the Berliner Zeitung. She later worked for a number of years as an auxiliary nurse in closed psychiatric wards. In 1979 she began studying creative writing at the Johannes R. Becher Literaturinstitut in Leipzig. In 1984 she left East Germany for West Berlin. She lives as a freelance writer in Berlin.
